It is obvious what happened at the White House Conference just post midterm election on Wednesday. Although I am not exactly sure since when a journalist living in a democratic country such as the United States was supposed to fear asking tough questions at a press conference. Nevertheless, there was an elephant sitting in the room that nobody dared to touch. Jim was the one to nail it. “Mr. President, do you think you demonize immigrants?” he asked.
1) Did Jim Acosta simply ask the wrong questions by addressing the migrant issues?
2) Did he have to be punished by having his press pass being revoked from the White House as a result?
3) If so, it begs the question is this the type of democracy that we’re living in?
4) And since when was democracy interchangeable with dictatorship?
How many times throughout history particular ethnic groups have been the object of stigmatization or demonization to satisfy political ends? It is no surprise how the Trump administration was ready to swiftly cast away the journalist Jim Acosta as being the demon for bringing it up.
Any way you look at it the political current is plain ugly. And the truth is seldom pretty. That’s what sent the president into fury.
